Different vegetation restoration measures impact species diversity in farming-pastoral ecotones.
The study looked at different ways to protect and restore vegetation in a region in northern China. They checked different areas like grasslands, wetlands, and abandoned lands to see how plants were growing. By using special software, they found that wetlands had the most plant diversity, while fenced grasslands had the least. Restoring fields to grasslands was a good way to bring back plant diversity. Interspecies competition and soil changes affected the plant communities over time.
