The study looked at how the plant Solidago canadensis affects the growth of other plants. They found that extracts from different parts of Solidago canadensis, as well as the soil around its roots, can hinder the growth of young plants. This shows that Solidago canadensis releases chemicals that can stop other plants from growing well.
