The article discusses how planting trees along highways can improve the environment, but current efforts in China focus more on looks than ecological benefits. To fix this, a new measure called "Green Quantity" is introduced to evaluate how well trees are helping the environment. By using this measure, we can better understand the ecological benefits of highway tree planting and guide future efforts to make them more effective.
