The study looked at how planting short-season cotton varieties earlier than usual affected their growth and yield. They tested four different varieties and found that planting earlier led to higher seed cotton and lint yields. Even though fewer nutrients were taken up per yield, the plants used nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium more efficiently when sown earlier. This improved the overall yield of cotton.
