Revolutionizing Foundation Design for Stronger, Settling-Resistant Structures
Cement-soil piles are used to make soft soil stronger. Scientists tested different heights of these piles on silty soil in Zhuhai. They used tests and computer simulations to see how well the piles worked. They found that the size and spacing of the piles affect how much weight they can hold and how much the ground settles. They suggest ways to design better cement-soil pile foundations.
