Health education reduces anxiety in diabetic inpatients, improving mental health.
The study looked at anxiety and depression in type 2 diabetic patients in the hospital. They found that about 22% of patients had anxiety and 11% had depression. Health education helped reduce anxiety in patients with mild to moderate levels, but didn't help much with severe anxiety. For depressed patients, health education didn't work well, especially for those with moderate to severe depression. Overall, health education was effective for patients with mild to moderate anxiety.
