The study analyzed 152 sweet corn hybrids in Guangdong from 2000 to 2006. Most hybrids were medium maturity, with good disease resistance. Medium stalk hybrids were the most common. The hybrids showed improvements in yield and quality. Overall, sweet corn breeding in Guangdong focuses on high quality, high yield, and disease resistance.
