Climate change in Hexi mountain oasis desert area impacting plant diversity.
The Hexi mountain oasis desert area has diverse plant communities across different geographical areas with varying altitudes. Climate changes over the past 50 years have led to a decrease in temperature and an increase in precipitation, affecting the development of glaciers and the discharge of the Heihe River. There are six major types of native vegetation, with over 1,000 plant species identified. The vegetation in the Qilian and Dongdashan Mountains belong to the same floristic area, which is younger than the Zhangye desert oasis area. Different types of plants dominate at different altitudes, with hemicryptophytes being the most common.
