Revolutionizing Soil Health: Conservation Tillage Boosts Stability and Carbon Content
Conservation tillage methods were tested on Fluvo-aquic soil to see how they affect soil structure. Different ways of returning straw were compared, like conventional tillage, no tillage with mulch, and no tillage with standing stubble. Results showed that no tillage with mulch had the lowest soil density, while no tillage with standing stubble improved microaggregate stability. No tillage with crush returning increased water stability macroaggregate by boosting soil organic carbon content. Overall, the study found that different straw returning methods can impact soil structure in various ways, with each method having its own benefits for soil health.
