New Waste Incineration Method Prevents Harmful Dioxin Generation.
The researchers found that by designing a waste incineration system to keep flue gas at low temperatures, they can prevent the formation of harmful dioxins. This method stops dioxins from re-synthesizing in the low-temperature regions of waste heat boilers, which can be a problem in traditional incineration methods. Cooling the flue gas quickly in these areas is not practical, so the key is to inhibit the second generation of dioxins by maintaining low temperatures in the system.
