A new type of rice called Zhongzhong 1A has been developed with high protein content and stable male sterility. It has good grain quality and combines well with other rice varieties. This new rice variety, along with a hybrid combination called Zhongzhongyou 448, has been certified for high yield and quality by the Hunan Provincial Crop Variety Appraisal Committee.
