Abundant rainfall triggers critical landslide in Zhejiang, urgent prevention measures needed.
The Pan'an landslide in Middle Zhejiang Province was studied to understand how it formed and why it is stable. The researchers found that the shape of the land and the materials it's made of caused the landslide, along with heavy rain. The landslide is currently stable, but could happen again if conditions change. To prevent future landslides, it's important to improve drainage and build walls in front of the landslide to monitor it better.
