The physical process ensemble technique was used to study summer precipitation over China. Different simulations showed variations in precipitation due to different parameterizations. East China had more reliable precipitation simulations than West China. The ensemble system improved the overall simulation results, with the mean precipitation over East China being better than most single simulations. The technique reduced uncertainties in model physics and improved the model's performance in simulating summer precipitation over East China.
