Goat Oocyte Freezing Breakthrough Promises Improved Livestock Breeding
The study looked at freezing Yunling goat eggs to see how well they survived. They used a special freezing solution and a quick freezing method. They found that eggs at a later stage of development froze better than earlier ones. After trying to make the eggs grow, they saw that frozen eggs didn't do as well as fresh ones. But, when they tried to make the eggs divide, the results were similar between frozen and fresh eggs. Freezing the eggs for 40 seconds was best for later-stage eggs.
