High Salinity Levels in Sandy Soil Threaten Ebinur Lake Basin Ecosystem.
The study analyzed the salt levels in sandy soil from Ebinur Lake basin with different vegetation cover. The total salt content varied greatly across the sampling areas, showing strong spatial differences. The main factors contributing to soil salinity were chloride and sulfate ions, along with potassium and sodium cations. The soil was mainly classified as chloride-sulfate or sulfate type salinization.
