Giant freshwater prawns are important in Asia, especially in China. They are usually resistant to diseases, but overcrowding and poor water quality can lead to outbreaks. White tail disease is a major problem for prawn larvae, causing high death rates. This review looked at the characteristics, transmission, detection, and control of white tail disease.
