The study looked at how much nitrogen pollution comes into Fuxianhu Lake from rivers on the north side. They checked the total nitrogen levels in three rivers. The results showed that the nitrogen amounts were below the acceptable level set by the national water quality standard. This low nitrogen level is the main reason why the water quality in Fuxianhu Lake is affected.
