Ultrafiltration breakthrough: Clean drinking water for B reservoir near Harbin!
Researchers studied using ultrafiltration to treat water from B reservoir in China for drinking purposes. They looked at how factors like water temperature, turbidity, pressure, and coagulant dosage affected the membrane's performance. They found that membrane flux increased as turbidity decreased, and using coagulation before ultrafiltration improved permeate flux. The process effectively removed turbidity, iron, manganese, aluminum, and coliform bacteria from the water. Total organic carbon levels were also significantly reduced, meeting drinking water regulations.
