Tibet's Forest Resources: Huge Quantity, Mainly Protection Forest, Limited Economic Forest.
The analysis on forest resources in Tibet shows that most of the forests are concentrated in certain areas, with a large quantity of forest resources. Forest and shrubbery make up over 95% of the forest stands, with protection forests being the most common type. Economic and fuel forests are scarce. Non-forested land consists mainly of barren hills and wasteland suitable for planting, making up about 89.48% of the area. Burned and desertified land account for 3.57% and 6.59% respectively. Forests make up 97.8-98.7% of the growing stock in Tibet.
