Soil nutrients thrive in re-vegetated slopes, transforming barren lands.
The study looked at how soil nutrients are distributed on different slopes in the Yunwu Mountains. They found that southern slopes and bare lands had similar levels of soil organic C and total soil N near the surface, while northern slopes had different levels. Total P varied a lot across slopes. Soil properties like organic C and total N decreased with depth, and pH values varied. Available K levels varied by slope type, while total P levels changed slightly with depth. Overall, soil nutrient conditions can be improved by natural re-vegetation, especially on northern slopes.
