Climate change and human activities drastically reduce water and sediment in Yellow River.
The Yellow River has less water and more sediment, causing an imbalance. The study analyzed data from 1950 to 2010 and found that both runoff and sediment discharge have significantly decreased, especially after the 1970s. Climate change, rainfall, water projects, and human activities are the main factors affecting the water and sediment variation in the Yellow River.
