Western Hubei Mountain Facing Drier Future with Decreasing Precipitation Trends
The study analyzed 51 years of precipitation data in Western Hubei mountain. It found that overall, annual precipitation decreased due to less rain in spring and autumn, especially in autumn. Summer and winter saw more rain. Heavy rain days decreased over time. Extreme rainfall events also decreased, happening less than 4 days per year. Significant changes in precipitation occurred in 2008, 1966, 1982, and 1959. The study predicts a gradual decrease in annual precipitation in the region, leading to drier conditions in the future.
