Polluted lakes and rivers could be revived with wetland technology
Eutrophic water bodies can become polluted with too much nitrogen and phosphorus, leading to excessive algae growth. Constructed wetlands are being used to remove these pollutants effectively. This study describes how constructed wetlands can help clean up eutrophic water bodies by reducing nitrogen and phosphorus levels. By understanding the mechanisms behind this process, researchers aim to improve the efficiency of constructed wetlands in restoring polluted water bodies.
