Sediment from Yellow River Estuary decreasing, impacting marine environment off Guangli.
The study looked at how sediment moves in the sea near Guangli and its connection to sediment from the Yellow River estuary. They found that sediment concentration is low in calm weather, but can increase with strong winds, affecting the area up to 40 km south. Sediment from the Yellow River estuary doesn't play a big role in sediment deposits in Guangli harbor waters. Instead, wind waves and tidal currents are the main factors. The amount of sediment from the Yellow River is decreasing, so its impact is becoming less significant.
