Increased nitrogen fertilizer levels in sugarcane soil lead to environmental impact.
The study looked at how different levels of nitrogen fertilizer affect the growth of sugarcane and the amount of nitrogen left in the soil. They used three levels of nitrogen fertilizer and found that as the fertilizer amount increased, so did the growth and nitrogen content of the sugarcane. However, the nitrogen left in the soil also increased, while the efficiency of nitrogen use by the sugarcane decreased. The best amount and depth for the fertilizer was 5.0 grams per pot and 20 cm deep in the soil.
