Spirulina boosts Ni bioaccumulation, paving the way for cleaner water systems!
The study looked at how Spirulina can help remove nickel from water. They found that it takes about 80 minutes for nickel to be absorbed by Spirulina, with the best results at a 7% ratio of nickel to Spirulina and a pH of 10. The process works best at 35℃ and 3000 lux of light. Interestingly, nonliving algae absorbed more nickel than living algae.
