Optimized fertilization boosts winter wheat yield and efficiency, revolutionizing agriculture.
The study looked at different ways to fertilize winter wheat to see how it affects growth and yield. They found that using optimized irrigation fertilization with crop residues slightly increased dry matter accumulation and economic coefficients. The number of ears per area didn't change much, but the grain number per ear decreased while the weight of 1000 grains increased. Water use efficiency stayed about the same, but nitrogen use efficiency was significantly higher with the new method. Combining optimized irrigation fertilization with crop residues was the best way to increase grain yield per area for winter wheat.
