Distributed databases revolutionize information exchange, enabling seamless cross-platform querying.
The article introduces a new object model for a distributed database that aims to make it easier to access and query information stored across different computer systems. By utilizing CORBA technology, the model can communicate with various types of databases and data formats, which was previously a challenge. The developed model allows for seamless data exchanges across different platforms and databases without the need for extensive reprogramming. The researchers successfully applied this model to create software for sharing information in a real-world setting, specifically in the South Electric Manager Center. Tests demonstrated that the model works well in a distributed system, confirming its practicality for general querying across diverse databases and systems.
