By analyzing data from 2002 to 2007, the researchers used various methods to understand the quantity, quality, grant rate, development potential, and domestic strength of patents. They found that patent applications in China face challenges in standards, technology, potential, and awareness. The distribution of patents varies across different fields, and there are differences in the types of patents filed by domestic and foreign applicants. The study provides insights and suggestions for improving patent strategies in China.
