Land use practices in Hebei province leading to severe soil degradation.
The study looked at how different types of land use affect soil quality in Huailai Basin, Hebei Province. Researchers found that proper land management can improve soil quality, with shelter-forest land showing the best results. However, grassland and certain other land types in the south of Guanting reservoir suffered from severe soil degradation due to poor conservation practices. Overall, the study showed that soil quality is closely linked to how the land is used, and harmful practices like over-grazing and deforestation can lead to soil degradation.
