Optimizing nitrogen fertilizer boosts tobacco yield and quality significantly.
The study looked at how different amounts and timing of nitrogen fertilizer affect the yield and quality of tobacco leaves. They found that applying nitrogen fertilizer increased the yield and quality of tobacco leaves, with the best results seen at an application rate of 60 kg/ha and a ratio of 50%-75% basal N to topdressed N. Increasing the topdressed nitrogen rate also improved yield and quality. Overall, the study suggests that using 60 kg/ha of nitrogen with a higher proportion of basal N can lead to the best results in terms of production value and nitrogen use efficiency for tobacco cultivation.
