Intercropping soybean and maize boosts yield by up to 14.2%!
The study looked at how growing soybean and maize together affects their growth and yield. They found that when no nitrogen fertilizer was used, intercropping increased the yield of both crops by 14.2%. However, when nitrogen fertilizer was applied, intercropping only increased the yield by 6.5%. Inoculation also helped increase the yield of both crops. Overall, intercropping soybean and maize can be beneficial for increasing economic yield, especially when no nitrogen fertilizer is used.
