New study reveals key reservoirs for increased oil production in Mabei area.
The study looked at different types of rocks in the Baikouquan formation in Mabei area to see how they affect the reservoirs. By studying core samples, well logs, and other data, researchers found that certain types of rocks, like underwater channel glutenite and estuary sandstone, make better reservoirs than others like braided channel glutenite. They also identified potential reservoir rocks like subaqueous mudslides glutenite. Overall, the study predicts where the best reservoirs are likely to be in the Mabei area.
