A high-resolution model was used to study tides and currents in Jiaozhou Bay. The model accurately reproduced observed data, showing strong currents near Tuan Dao reaching speeds of 0.43 m/s for tides and 2.14 m/s for residual currents. The study identified four strong residual current systems near the bay's mouth and two weaker ones in the middle. Tidal energy fluxes showed a specific flow pattern at the bay's entrances. The study also calculated the tidal prism for the bay.
