Optimizing Nitrogen and Irrigation Boosts Wheat Yield and Quality Significantly
The study looked at how different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer and irrigation affected the yield and quality of wheat in three varieties. They found that using 225 or 300 kg/hm2 of nitrogen led to higher grain yield and protein content compared to using 150 kg/hm2. Watering four times resulted in higher grain yield, while watering two times led to higher protein content. One variety, Jingdong 8, had the highest grain yield and weight. Overall, the best combination for grain yield and protein content was watering three times, using 225 kg/hm2 of nitrogen, and applying nitrogen in a 7:3 ratio of base fertilizer to top dressing.
