Wet Air Oxidation Treatment Improves Biodegradability of DNT Wastewater
Treating DNT wastewater with wet air oxidation can reduce its COD and improve biodegradability. By adjusting temperature, pressure, and time, the BOD/COD ratio can be increased to 0.309, making the effluent more biodegradable. The COD can be lowered to 88mg/L under specific conditions. Adding nantokite and ferric salt can further decrease the COD. GC-MS analysis shows denitration, demethylation, and ring cleavage reactions occur during treatment.
