Soil fertility in Neixiang tobacco-growing areas classified into four ranks.
The study analyzed soil fertility in Neixiang tobacco-growing areas using 10 soil nutrient indexes. The researchers found significant variations in soil fertility, classifying it into four ranks. They discovered that total nitrogen levels were high, organic matter and available phosphorus were medium, and available potassium was deficient. The study recommended controlling nitrogen, adding phosphorus, and adjusting potassium levels. It also suggested adding organic fertilizer with higher carbon-to-nitrogen ratio and developing a classification fertilization program based on nutrient changes in different plots.
