New technique boosts efficiency of flue gas desulfurization, promising cleaner air.
Flue gas desulfurization with pyrolusite pulp can efficiently remove sulfur dioxide from industrial emissions. By adjusting the pH buffer and oxygen levels in the flue gas, researchers found that adding 10% pH buffer and having 21% oxygen concentration resulted in high absorption efficiency and manganese extraction rates. This method is both practical and economically viable for industrial use.
