Grassland Dominance in Yulin Prefecture Leads to High Landscape Integrity
The researchers analyzed the landscape patterns and fragmentation in Yulin Prefecture using maps and computer programs. They found that grassland is the most common landscape type, followed by woodland and farmland. Grassland has the highest cohesion and least fragmentation, while orchards and settlements are highly fragmented. The overall landscape is mainly controlled by grassland, woodland, and farmland, which make up almost 94% of the region. Dry land has the highest number of patches, indicating high fragmentation. The findings show that orchards and settlements are highly fragmented, while grassland remains intact and cohesive.
