Air pollution in Jinan was analyzed in 2013, showing high levels of pollutants exceeding standards, especially in winter. Particulate matter pollution was worst in the west and north-west, while SO2 and NO2 were highest in the central areas. To improve air quality, measures were suggested to reduce pollutants like particulate matter, SO2, and NO2. By implementing these measures, concentrations of pollutants in Jinan are projected to decrease significantly by 2015, leading to a notable improvement in air quality.
