The study looked at rural drinking water in Nantong to see how safe it is. They tested water samples from different sources and found that only about half of them met the quality standards. The main issue was that disinfection and cleaning measures were not being done properly. To improve the water quality, they suggest building better water supply systems and focusing on safety measures.
