New method reveals key factors influencing tube bending process efficiency.
The study used computer simulations to figure out how much force and bending happens when bending tubes with machines. They found that the force on the bending part stays about the same, but the bending force increases a lot. The force on the stiff end of the bending part goes up in a straight line, while the bending force changes like a wave. If you bend faster or use stronger materials, the force and bending increase. If you use a smaller bending radius or softer materials, the force and bending also increase. This method can be used for bending other things like metal bars or pipes.
