Optimizing Soil Moisture Boosts Wheat Yield and Water Efficiency in Drip Irrigation.
The study looked at how different levels of soil moisture affect the growth and yield of spring wheat under drip irrigation in South Xinjiang. They found that the best soil moisture levels for high grain yield and water use efficiency were around 65%-70% at certain growth stages. The dwarf wheat variety Xinchun 22 was more sensitive to soil moisture than the tall variety Xinchun 19, using less water but still producing good yields. Overall, the study suggests that adjusting drip irrigation to specific soil moisture levels can help maximize wheat yield and water efficiency in this region.
