Tarim Basin's Neogene Sedimentary Shifts Unveil Ancient River Systems.
The Neogene sedimentary facies in the Southwest Depression of Tarim Basin show a unique dustpan shape with different slopes and thicknesses. The deposits form a complex system including meandering rivers, braided rivers, alluvial fans, and deltas. The braided river delta facies is prominent in the southwest, while meandering river facies dominate the northeast. The deposits are thicker in the north and the depo-center is not aligned with the subsidence center.
