Land use change in Jilin Province driven by population growth and policy.
The research analyzed how land use in Jilin province changed over the past 20 years. They found that more grassland, woodland, and unused land turned into cultivated land during this time. The main driving forces behind these changes were population growth, economic development, and government policies. The study used GIS technology to map out the changes and showed that the intensity of human impact on the landscape increased. The western part of Jilin province saw the most significant changes, with grassland turning into cultivated land and some areas becoming unused land.
