Scientists used reverse osmosis technology to clean brackish water from coal mines. They tested the process in the lab and in the field, treating water with high salt levels. By aerating, coagulating, filtering, and using the RO system, they achieved over 98% salt removal and 80% clean water output. The treated water met national drinking water standards and had good microbiological quality.
