The researchers studied sedimentary facies in Yinmaili area during the Cretaceous period. They found four types of sedimentary facies: alluvial, fan-delta, lacustrine, and delta. By analyzing the lithologic features and sedimentary structures, they discovered that the Yageliemu formation should be classified as part of the bottom glutenite member. This suggests that sedimentation in Yinmaili area involved multiple transportation processes, leading to significant variations and migrations of sediments.
