Researchers studied the yield of red leaf cotton hybrids created by crossing different parent plants. They found that the hybrids showed increased seed cotton yield compared to their parents. The hybrids also had more bolls per plant and higher boll weight. However, the lint cotton yield was lower than expected. Some hybrid combinations showed significant improvements in yield compared to their parents.
