Slope erosion affects road stability. A study tested rain erosion on compacted loess roadbed slopes. Factors like slope gradient, compactness, and rainfall intensity were analyzed. The critical gradient for erosion is 25.9°. Slope compactness greatly impacts stabilization. Longer slopes destabilize. Erosion is less at the slope top than at the foot. Sand content in water affects downstream sand more on longer slopes.
