The water quality in Poyang Lake has been studied for over twenty years. Recent data shows that the lake's water quality is decreasing, especially in the southern area. Pollution from human activities, population growth, and construction projects pose a threat to the lake's water quality. To address this, measures like optimizing the Three Gorges Reservoir, adjusting industrial practices, and setting pollution standards are recommended.
